Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News
The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.
Season 1 presents a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.
The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.
That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're waiting for happens this season.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've come across a few fans create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
