Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
